ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಪರಿಚಯ:
Arun Karanth is an artist currently working in Mangaluru, Karnataka. Arun, from his childhood, fell in love with nature especially the evergreen forests of the Western Ghats where he was born and brought up. To expand his horizon beyond the green hills, he developed a passion for trekking in the Himalayas. In one of the treks, he was mesmerized by the colourful sunset amidst snow-capped mountain ranges, which he wanted to engrave in his mind permanently. This inspired Arun to learn painting.
As an amateur painter, he started experimenting with various art medium, since 2010 but later he sharpened his painting skills from “Prasad School of Art, Mangaluru” since 2013. He uses charcoal, watercolour pencil and acrylic as his art medium. His painting subject mostly includes picturesque landscapes, rural India, antiques, portraits and sculptures. He had participated and exhibited his paintings in Kala Kunja (2015), Madhubani exhibition (2016), Kudla Kala Mela (2017), held at Mangaluru. He is not only traveller and hiker but also photographer, which is an added advantage for his paintings as he frames the painting subjects through his lens. An artist’s view aids his photography eye whereas a photographer’s angle precision helps his artist hand so that both the skills blend together to make them picture-perfect.
